Combining science and engineering helps solve a wide range of societal problems, grad students tell high school audience.

New research at the University of Calgary may hold the key to restoring hair growth in the future. Jeff Biernaskie’s research findings, published this week in the scientific journalDevelopmental Cell, identify the existence of a skin (dermal) stem cell in adult hair follicles that may one day be targeted to stimulate new hair growth after injury, burns, disease or aging.
