SURE Events & Training
PLEASE NOTE: All summer students are strongly encouraged to participate in all SURE hosted events and to discuss additional training options with their supervisor in order to ensure they are adequately prepared to begin their summer research.

*Please note: to register in these events, please follow the directions provide at each link. Registration for these events is not administered by the UCVM Office of Graduate Education.

Safety Training: All summer students are required to have Biosafety and WHMIS Training PRIOR to starting any lab work. Courses are available in late April for current UofC students and early May for all summer students who are not enrolled at the UofC. For more health and safety training courses offered by the University of Calgary, please visit www.ucalgary.ca/safety/courses.
Institutional Animal User Training Program: this training is offered by the Animal Health Unit and it is required for all individuals using animals or animal-derived tissues in research or teaching at the University of Calgary.
