Doug Morck received his BSc in Cellular and Microbial Biology from the University of Calgary in 1983, his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, and his PhD from the University of Calgary in 1991. He completed a one year post-doctoral fellowship in immunology research from the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research. Dr Morck has been an Adjunct Faculty member of the University of Calgary since 1992, a tenured Associate Professor since 2001, and is now a Full Professor in the Faculty of Science (2005) and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (2006). He has been a founding member of the Veterinary Faculty from its inception. Dr Morck’s service and teaching interests include the humane care and use of animals, and his research interests involve bacterial pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance, and bacterial biofilms in health and disease of humans and other animals.
