Jack grew up in Edmonton and graduated with distinction from WCVM in 1972. He worked in and owned a general small animal practice in downtown Calgary until 2008. Clinical interests are varied, with a special interest in internal medicine. After leaving practice, Jack began volunteer coaching in the Professional Skills communication program and then joined the faculty as a PSkills Instructor and course co-ordinator, initially in the first year course, and then the third year course.
Jack has been involved with the ABVMA for many years and now represents Alberta veterinarians as a member of the National Examining Board which administers the NAVLE and accredits veterinary education programs in Canada, the U.S. and internationally.
Jack teaches in all three years of PSkills in communication and ethics, Clinical Skills in the diagnostic process, Introduction to Vet Med in Companion Animals, and in the Outbreak course.
