Careem Lab
The Careem Lab is part of the Department of Ecosystem and Public Health, University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM).
We are affiliated with Molecular and Cellular Basis of Infectious Diseases Research Group (MCBID) of the UCVM and Snyder Institute of Chronic Diseases.
With a view of economic and public health importance of respiratory viral infections, my research program focuses on:
- studying mucosal innate immune responses to respiratory viral infections
- identifying key immunological mediators involved in innate immune responses elicited at respiratory mucosa, particularly in lungs
- designing infection control strategies based on immune modulators to prevent respiratory viral infections.
