Includes post-mortem examination, histopathology (if required), and carcass disposal. The cost of ancillary testing is not included. The case pathologist will contact the referring veterinarian before proceeding with testing that would incur additional expense. Cosmetic necropsy is not offered.

Defined as a group of up to 3 animals of similar age, from the same herd/household with similar clinical signs suspected to be affected by the same disease process. This fee includes post-mortem examination, histopathology (if required), and carcass disposal. The cost of ancillary testing is not included. Submissions must include a complete post-mortem report and list of differentials to direct testing. Digital photographs are encouraged. This fee includes histopathology for 1 animal. The surcharge covers a detailed report, a photographic record, chain of custody procedures, and long-term storage of tissues.

If additional pathologist time in the form of consultations, deposition, court testimony or other related activity is required above the standard legal/insurance case, such work will be charged on an hourly basis.

Standard Necropsy

A preliminary report will be issued within 24 hours of the post-mortem examination.  Turnaround to the final report is 5-10 business days.

Multiple Animal Necropsy

A preliminary report will be issued within 24 hours of the post-mortem examination.  Turnaround to the final report is 5-10 business days.

Fetal Necropsy

A preliminary report will be issued within 24 hours of the post-mortem examination.  Turnaround to the final report is 5-10 business days.

Field Necropsy

Turnaround time is 3-5 business days.

Surgical Biopsy

Turnaround time is 2-3 business days.
