The graduate and postgraduate education mission of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is to be an international leader in the training of animal health researchers and postgraduate veterinarians who will advance animal and public health as well as the veterinary profession.
Though our DVM training program is just in its second year, our research and graduate education programs are growing very rapidly. We have almost 100 research and clinical trainees and steadily continue to climb towards our target of 200. The programs that we have launched are as follows:
The features of our graduate program are:

- working within a research-intensive veterinary school with close linkages to the medical school and partner agencies in the public and private sector
- an optional 4-6 month research rotation program to allow students a variety of work environments with different professors in order to make more informed decisions about supervisors;
- strong training in basic research skills and in addition to, communication, ethics and career options;
