Welcome to the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM), Canada's fifth accredited veterinary college.
UCVM was established by the Province of Alberta in 2004. The first faculty members were recruited in 2005 and the first graduate students started in 2006. The first DVM class started in September 2008.
Fully funded by the Province of Alberta, UCVM is committed to meeting the animal and public health needs of the province through its educational, research and outreach programs. Please explore our website to find out more.

Congratulations to Dennis Klugkist, Class of 2012. Klugkist presented to the Annual Conference of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners in Albuquerque, New Mexico and not only won the Student Case Report Presentation award, but also took home Best Overall Presentation. Read more
