About Us

Globalization mandates that our students at the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) develop the skills necessary to work with people from different countries, cultures, and interdisciplinary teams to solve global challenges. Consistent with University of Calgary Global Engagement Plan 2020-2025, UCVM is committed to incorporating globalization in all aspects of its academic mission. UCVM’s Global Engagement Plan is our intentional response to globalization to prepare our future veterinarians and researchers to become global citizens.

UCVM is inherently international, as many of our faculty, staff, postdoctoral trainees and >50% of our graduate students are international. Consistent with University of Calgary’s vision to become a global intellectual hub, internationalization is a priority of the UCVM’s 2017-2022 Strategic Plan.
