Dynamic Respiratory Scope in Research

Dr. Léguillette is also involved with many studies in inflammatory and non-infectious respiratory disease in horses and is working towards finding new treatments for these conditions. The large population of equine athletes in Alberta coupled with the high presence of lung inflammation has reinforced the need to develop preventative measures and effective treatment regimes. Upper airway obstructions and pathologies in horses involved in different equine disciplines are also being evaluated using a Dynamic Respiratory Scope. Read more about the DRS here.

UCVM was the first in Canada to obtain the DRS, thanks to a generous donation from the Equine Foundation of Canada (EFC). We thank Eldon and Peggy Bienert, President and Treasurer of the EFC for this allowing such advancement in the care level of horses in Alberta!
