International meeting results in new partnerships and collaboration
Dr. Leguillette & Co recently attended and presented at the 10th International Conference on Equine Exercise Physiology (ICEEP) in Lorne, Australia. It was another excellent meeting filled with cutting edge research and knowledge sharing from those who are passionate about sport horse health.
As a result of this meeting, new research partnerships were formed. Our most recent collaboration took place in Miyazaki, Japan.
The video (right) shows a horse undergoing a field test to measure its maximal aerobic capacity, or VO2max. The horse is equipped with a mask and the jockey carries a small but sophisticated system that analyzes the metabolic demands as the horse gallops around the track.
