Zahra Pezeshkian

Zahra is a Research Associate at The Simpson Centre with a Master’s degree in Applied and Agricultural Economics from the University of Saskatchewan and a MicroMasters in Data, Economics, and Design of Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her work bridges economic theory, quantitative methods, and real-world decision-making in agriculture.
At The Simpson Centre, she focuses on developing and applying agent-based models (ABM) to examine how farmers adopt new technologies, how policies shape their choices, and how these dynamics affect productivity, risk, and environmental outcomes. Her research interests include agricultural innovation, sustainable production systems, and evidence-based policy design for prairie and rural economies.
