Hemi
When I first met Hemi, it was love at first sight. A friend and I drove up to Edmonton to try him out and we managed to miss the turn off to the QEII to come home because we were too busy talking about how much I loved him and how handsome he was. Even though he spooked on my trial ride, I knew he had to be mine. It took Hemi some time to learn to trust me, but once he did, he was game for mostly anything. Over the years, Hemi and I had the chance to go on a couple of adventures. From a dressage schooling day to an obstacles and trails clinic in Rocky Mountain House, he was willing to try whatever I asked of him. The best days were those spent with him, whether it was going for a ride or just spending time grooming him and taking him for a graze. He was a firm believer that everyone who came out of the tack room must have cookies for him and definitely charmed many people into sharing their cookies with him. Unfortunately my time with Hemi was cut short, but I am forever grateful to him for being the best horse I could have ever asked for. Hemi was a big horse with an even bigger personality and life will never be the same without him.
